We changed the server for our Oracle LDAP server and modified the LDAP.ORA file to point to the new server. When connection to an Oracle database via SQL*Plus, there is no issue. Using TOAD to connect to the database fails because the LDAP Descriptor drop-down on the LDAP tab does not contain the database to connect to. How do I refresh or change the LDAP server that TOAD is pointing to?
Is there more than one Oracle Home on your PC? If so, did you update the ldap.ora associated with that Oracle Home that Toad is using?
Actually, the LDAP descriptor dropdown on the login screen is pretty much irrelevant. They are only there so you can choose them. If for some reason, one
of them didn’t show up there, but existed on your LDAP server, you could type it in on your login screen in Toad and it would work (assuming of course that the Oracle Home that Toad uses is pointing at the right LDAP server).
If you changed your LDAP.Ora while Toad was running, you might have to restart Toad to get it to pull that data again.
