Installation of Toad Data Point Professional Failed as the part of Toad Intelligence Central Server Installer

Hi ,

Toad Data Point is failing to be installed as a part of Toad Intelligence Central Server Installer . The error message while Toad Data Point is being installed is "Unable to cast object of type ‘System.Byte[]’ to type ‘System.String’’ . The Error log is attached along with the screenshots . Can anybody help me regarding this ?

It is actually error when trying to access registry to see if you have the old TIC Admin Console installed. I will forward this to the TIC installer team however you might see if you can manually uninstall TIC Admin Console and retry the install.

Hi ,

     I have zero instances of old TIC Admin Console installed .

To remove admin console is the last step after installing TDP. If installation reached to uninstall Admin console step, that means TDP has been installed successfully without errors.

This should be a bug in checking Admin Console’s existence when it doesn’t exist.

Got that , but I have previously said , I have zero instances of old TIC (Toad Intelligence Central) Admin Console installed . So , after the installation of Toad Intelligence Central Server , is it like that it (Toad Intelligence Central Server) is trying to find out old instances of TIC (Toad Intelligence Central) Admin Console and so the error is occurring ?

The version of Toad Intelligence Central Server for installation is 4.3.0.126 . It is being installed in a 64 - Bit Windows PC , OS Installed : Windows 7 Service Pack 1 .

Small Update : The installation of Toad Intelligence Central Server for version 4.3.0.126 is completed seamlessly in Windows 10 64 Bit Edition .

So you are good for now? If you need more assistance to debug the win 7 pc please open a support case so we can dig deeper into the issue. We test all the time on Win 7 so there is something else different going on.

Actually we found the issue and entered TIC-9717 for the fix.
