Reset SQL Optimizer call from Toad

Hi,

Toad 12.x x64

I have installed SQL Optimizer beta 9.0.

Then from Toad call it, setting as default option beta SQL Optimizer in dialog (when prompt to choose between versions regular and beta). SQL Optimizer is expired and now I cannot reset the value.

Any hint where this parameter is written or how to reset just it to show to Licensed 8.9.1 version.
Brg
Damir

Please this is quite urgent problem and any help would be appreciated.

This sounds like a SQL Optimizer issue, not a Toad one. Have you tried to post this issue on their board?

Have you tried uninstalling the expired beta?

@Brad,
No this is Toad issue because Toad is calling SQL Optimizer defined in Toad dialog … so there is some kind of settings saved somewhere…

@John,
I cannot do that on client machine (have no admin rights) and user cannot ask for help to admin level because this will be a security issue-someone installed beta software on company comp…

So I was asked for help.
Looking forward to get some info…doesn’t really seems to be hard if you know where to look for.

Hope now is all more clear.

What do you mean by “defined in Toad dialog”? How exactly are you calling SQL Optimizer from Toad?

Hi Brad,

Sorry for being unclear, but here is a picture

And then user get:

and in between there is no way dialog (in which he previously sadi that he will use beta version of SQL Optimizer and checked (I think) do not ask again).

I think that prompt to use the SQL Optimizer Beta came from SQL Optimizer, not Toad. I don’t see any such prompt in our source.

My only suggestion at this point would be to locate SQL Optimizer’s user files and nuking them. Like you mentioned, maybe they are storing your preference
somewhere

THX guys … case closed.

Fail overing to SQL Optimizer forum soon … but first will “by myself” if I can find something.

The option to control which edition/version to open up when launched from Toad is shared by all editions and versions of SQL Optimizer. It means that you can open any working copy of the product to change the default.

In your case, please launch the licensed 8.9.1 SQL Optimizer, then click on Options. Under the General | Options page, there is a “Setting…” button on the bottom of the screen. Click that button and you will be able to change your default.
