Toad for Oracle - Beta

Please consider having the session browser to open in collapsed view by default (old school).
Currently, it always starts expanded, which can be a bit cluttered.
Also a bit annoying is that when changing the filter, the first node always opens expanded.

Are you talking about the parallel sessions? Someone just opened a support case about that last week. I have fixed this for next beta, which should be released later today.

If not, screen shots would help me understand the problem a little better.

"Collapse all", then open specific group and apply some filter
First (top) group always expands too (NOK)

Thanks. I see that the behavior changed there with version 2026 R1.

I'll fix.

Next beta will give you an option for default expansion state. The default setting is shown in the screen shot below (this matches behavior of version 2025 R3).

"Select first child" will expand the first grouping down to a node which does not have children. You might want to leave that checked to prevent the detail area from selecting lots of sessions, if your first group has a lot of sessions. So in this case, if I did not have "Select first child" checked, then the "TOAD.EXE" node would be selected and the detail area would have 7 sessions instead of 1.
