Edit: Problem solved. After spending more time googling I ran across a post here in Toad World with a different scheduling problem where @JohnDorlon had suggested that running Toad as administrator might help. That fixed my problem. I'll leave this post in case someone else has the same problem (or I forget later on ).
I'm using Toad for Oracle 2025 R1.
I created an action in the Automation Designer to Export Dataset. I ran it and it shows completed.
I want this to run every day at a certain time. I right clicked on the Export Dataset task and clicked on Schedule.
I gave it a name: Run FY25 BARS
The author shows [my login name]@[my database name] (which I'm currently logged into while running the script in the previous step)
I leave the default Start a program action
I add a new trigger setting it to reoccur every 1 day at 5 am
In the "When running the task, use the following user account:" it defaults in the Windows [Device Name]/[username].
I have "Run only when user is logged on" and "Run with highest privileges" checked.
I put in my Windows password and and confirm it.
I get an error message that says: Error Registering Task Access is denied.
My windows user shows as an administrator. It is a work computer on Windows 10. Is it possible my IT department did something in the settings to not allow registering tasks?
Any help to point me in the right direction is appreciated.
