To give a little background…
My company recently upgraded to Office 365 32 Bit.
I was using TOAD data point 3.6 and received this error when trying to add Access data sources under Office 365 32 bit, but had no issue with Office 2010.
I upgraded to TOAD data point 4.0 and still receive this error while using Office 365.
Documentation has said that i need to install this redistribute : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
but why would I need to do that if i’m already using Office 32 bit? Shouldn’t the necessary redistributes already be there?
You need to install AccessDatabaseEngine to connect Office 365
Is there a service bulletin that outlines this? I need some proof from microsoft to take back to my IT director to have him install this. I took a look in the install guide of TOAD and it never mentions it.
Hello,
Unfortunately the problem is caused by a bug in Microsoft ODBC drivers bundled with Office 365 and so we have only limited possibility to do anything with that. You can try installing the Access Database Engine to solve the issue or use Microsoft support or their forums for further steps.

Is there any documentation for this bug? If I want to go to Microsoft it would definitely be easier to have documentation for it.
I’m not sure what kind of documentation are you looking for. We plan to make some note to our documentation, since we found the problem recently.
I haven’t found any better official Microsoft article about the problem except update which fix the problem in Office 2016: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114378
Unfortunately the fix doesn’t seem to work for Office 365.
You should be able to reproduce the bug outside Toad if you try to create a new DSN in the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
