Just trying to copy a string of a few words or a line from within my TOAD editor session.
But turning off "Copy text in rich text format" s olved the problem. J
Thanks for quick turnaround.

Is this file fairly large? Try disabling the "Copy text in rich text format" option on the Editor, Behavior page in Options. With that option enabled the entire document is forcefully styled as the styling information is needed to construct the RTF document. This can be a costly operation on large text.

Using TOAD 12.8.0.49 recently installed (last couple weeks)
Windows 7
tnsnames connectivity to Oracle 10.1.0.5.0 (sqlplus version)
When I am using the Editor on a text file, highlight some text, Ctrl-C -> get about a 2-4 second spinning circle icon , keyboard unresponsive.
At least once after install I have also run into what appeared to be a memory leak - where TOAD crashed because it ranout of memory. I am thinking this lag is memory related as well - but nothing to base it on?
It's kind of like the lag when you have the dictionary auto-lookup thing turned on - but definitely not that.
Any ideas - this is annoying but not the end of the world....
