When Desktop Panels are pinned, above the tab is type of menu bar for the Desktop Panels, it would be nice to get rid of this to save some screen real estate. It's only purpose seems to be right-click context menu, (un)pin, close, and to click-drag the Desktop Panel to different docking positions. It seems all of this could be handled in the area that contains the Desktop Panel tabs.
